Rod Stewart ‘speechless’ at Ibrox developments, he even feels sorry for Rangers fans
Rod Stewart has taken a shot at Danny Rohl as Rangers drew 2-2 against Dundee United in the William Hill Premiership on Wednesday.
The rock legend, who is also a Celtic fan, seemed to slam the German manager for promising big things and failing to deliver so far in G51.
Rohl dropped more points at Tannadice Park on 3 December, with a last-minute Nedim Bajrami penalty needed to secure a draw.
Falkirk also left with a point from Ibrox on 30 November, with the Glaswegian outfit failing to take advantage of Hearts’ dip in form.

Rangers fans still behind their team at Ibrox
Stewart feels sorry for the Gers fans who continue to support the club despite the dark times in G51.
The Celtic fan described the situation at Ibrox as “bleak”, and many wouldn’t be able to argue against that after what’s transpired at the Light Blues in recent months, with Russell Martin, Kevin Thelwell and Patrick Stewart leaving.
While Rohl has to take some blame, he isn’t helped by the fact that the squad at his disposal at the Glaswegian outfit is undoubtedly not good enough, and it will be interesting to see what happens in the winter transfer window.
Speaking to Alan Brazil on talkSPORT on 4 December, Stewart said: “I’m speechless. This manager, Rohl, or whatever his name is, he’s come in and promised all sorts of things. I think you can’t blame the manager. I think he’s got a lot of players who don’t want to be there and are substandard, and he’s never going to knock them into shape.”
The rock legend added: “For the first time, Alan, I feel a little bit sorry for Rangers fans because they’re still coughing up money, going and seeing them. It’s pretty bleak at Ibrox.”
Apart from the William Hill Premiership, the prospects in the Europa League at Ibrox don’t look very promising, with the Gers securing just one point after five matches.
Ibrox clearout needed: How many players will Danny Rohl sign in January?
It’s clear that Rohl needs reinforcements at Ibrox in January, with a new goalscorer arguably a priority for the Light Blues.
Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski have failed to live up to expectations at Rangers, with Danilo also seeing a dip in form.
| Players | Transfer fee |
| Youssef Chermiti | £8m |
| Oliver Antman | £3.5m |
| Thelo Aasgaard | £3.5m |
| Bojan Miovski | £2.6m |
| Emmanuel Fernandez | £2.5m |
A new centre-back may also be on the Glaswegian outfit’s agenda, with Nasser Djiga and Emmanuel Fernandez’s poor showings recently, with a new left-back also somewhat needed, as Jayden Meghoma is the only natural option.
Thelo Aasgaard and Lyall Cameron have struggled to make a mark at Ibrox, and with the addition of another creative midfielder, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Gers sign four more players in the winter transfer window capable of staking a claim in the starting lineup.
