Barry Ferguson slams ‘nonsense’ Danny Rohl snipes after what was spotted following Rangers win

Barry Ferguson has popped back at those who claimed Danny Rohl’s Rangers celebrations against Dundee were excessive.

Rangers beat Dundee 3-0 at Dens Park on Sunday, in what was possibly Rohl’s best win yet as Gers boss.

Mikey Moore showed his true qualities against Dundee, but Rohl still has a challenge in getting a tune out of Youssef Chermiti.

Despite the win, Rohl was slammed for his celebrations with the travelling Rangers fans, with some deeming them to be over the top.

Ferguson didn’t hold back in what he had to say about those mocking Rohl.

Barry Ferguson baffled by ‘grumpy’ claims on Danny Rohl’s celebrations

Rangers are still hopeful of success this season, and even though Celtic knocked them out of the Premier Sports Cup, the Bears can still catch the Hoops in the league.

Rohl has shown that his reputation is well-founded, as he can be a successful head coach with a big club.

The German realises the importance of galvanising the Gers supporters, and the celebrations against Dundee were a step in the right direction for unity.

Former Gers interim boss Ferguson claimed the criticism of Rohl’s celebrations has been a load of “nonsense”.

Ferguson said, as quoted by the Daily Record on Friday: “Listen, by no means did he go over the score at full-time. He walked over to the away end, gave them a couple of fist pumps, a wave and then he was off down the tunnel.

“I’ve seen some grumpy folk having a pop at the German head coach for those celebrations and saying they were over the top – everyone is entitled to an opinion, but for me that’s nonsense.”

Ferguson is right, and the game against Dundee connected Gangers fans with Rohl at the exact right time.

Rangers fans are counting down the days until the international break ends

Rangers’ next game comes in the Scottish Premiership against Livingston, back home at Ibrox.

Though the scenes at Dens were frowned upon, Rohl has managed to make a spark between himself and the fans at the perfect time.

Gers fans will be itching to see their team back in action after an impressive win last time out, and Ibrox is bound to be rocking against Livingston.

Rangers’ next three fixtures

The next three games for the Bears are all at home, including a decisive Europa League showdown against Braga.

Rangers have little hope for their Europa League campaign, but still have a chance to make a dramatic turnaround.

A bond has now been created between Rohl and Rangers, and things will only go up from here.
