Rangers make Nobel Mendy transfer decision amid rave reviews after collapsed Ibrox move
Rangers have made a decision on whether or not to pursue a new deal to bring in Nobel Mendy as he shines in La Liga.
Rangers thought they had a deal to sign Mendy wrapped up in the summer window, but the 21-year-old ended up moving to Rayo Vallecano instead.
Mendy’s Rangers move collapsed over an issue with his medical and Derek Cornelius arrived at Ibrox on loan instead.
Now, with Mendy now proving a success in La Liga and contributing to a clean sheet against Real Madrid at the weekend, Kevin Thelwell and company’s decision on reviving the pursuit has emerged.

Rangers no longer interested in signing Nobel Mendy
The Daily Record report that the Light Blues’ recruitment department have decided against attempting to sign the Senegalese defender.
Despite Mendy earning “rave reviews” in Spain and “rumours” of Rangers circling once more the club won’t be going back in for him.
The centre-back is said to be settled at Vallecano and no longer on the radar at Ibrox.

Thelwells under huge pressure over Rangers deals
Thelwell continues to take major heat over Rangers’ recruitment, with pressure only heightened on the ex-Everton chief by appointing his son to head up the department.
Youssef Chermiti‘s ongoing struggles up front after his own high-profile switch from the Toffees continues to cause disquiet.
Mendy breaking into the starting line-up in Spain and thriving will hardly improve the general outlook for those in charge of comings and goings in the playing squad, with the central defensive options hardly setting the world alight in Glasgow.
In fairness it would have been hugely risky to ignore warning signs in a medical given Rangers’ recent track record with injury-prone players, but with John Souttar, Cornelius, and Nasser Djiga flattering to deceive some fans might have hoped for a Mendy revisit.
