Gian Piero Gasperini hand forced with Artem Dovbyk at Roma in Rangers injury boost
Rangers could be set to face Roma with Artem Dovbyk starting up front.
Roma are preparing for a trip to face Rangers at Ibrox on Thursday as the Gers return to their Europa League campaign.
Danny Rohl has only taken charge of one continental clash, watching on as Rangers lost 3-0 to Brann in his first Light Blues clash in the dugout.
The German will be hoping for a different result as Rangers play host to Roma and could now be in a perfect position to do so.
Gian Piero Gasperini could be forced to utilise Dovbyk after injury frustration appears to have prompted a change in the Roma boss’ approach.

Paulo Dybala set to miss out through injury vs Rangers
Rohl will be prepared for the Rangers clash against Roma with the hope of a proper lift off in charge of the Govan club.
That won’t be easy against the Italian giants, who currently sit just one point off Napoli at the top of the Serie A table.
The Light Blues have been handed an injury boost ahead of their Ibrox meeting, with Paulo Dybala set to miss out with a muscle problem.
The Argentina international was forced off last time out as the Giallorossi suffered a 1-0 defeat against AC Milan.
Dybala suffered an injury while taking a penalty on Sunday and has since undergone medical tests, but is set to miss the Ibrox trip.
That will be music to the ears of Rohl and is bound to be a damaging blow to Gasperini, as he could be forced to utilise Dovbyk.
Artem Dovbyk could replace Dybala for Roma
When the Italian was named as Roma head coach, he suggested that there was work to be done with the Ukraine international to solve his “weaknesses”.
It doesn’t appear that this has worked so far, with the striker making just two Serie A starts this campaign, while coming off the bench seven times.
In that time, he has netted just two goals and has seemingly failed to make a lasting impression on Gasperini at the Stadio Olympico.
The idea that he might have to replace Dybala in the starting 11 may be seen as a blow for Roma, while being a boost to the Light Blues.

With Aston Villa loanee Leon Bailey also missing out, it looks as if Gasperini has little choice but to back the number nine.
The ex-Girona man has a point to prove, but based on how differently he profiles to his Argentine teammate, it could be exactly what Rangers need to succeed.
