Danny Rohl given Dujon Sterling return timeline after footage from Rangers HQ
Rangers star Dujon Sterling looks to be getting closer to a return from injury.
Sterling has been missing from the Rangers squad since April after he suffered an Achilles tendon rupture.
That means that he is yet to play for new manager Danny Rohl for the Ibrox outfit, and could provide a new option for the ex-Sheffield Wednesday boss.
Rohl’s start to life in Glasgow has been mixed, with two wins and two losses, and he will welcome the return of Sterling, as it may allow him to tweak his set-up.

Rangers told the key step for Dujon Sterling’s return
Sterling has been spotted in Rangers training recently, taking part in various drills with the rest of the first-team squad at Auchenhowie.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an expert in physical therapy and strength and conditioning, believes that Sterling’s return to training shows that he is on the right track, and revealed what the next step is.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, he said: “In elite football, Achilles ruptures are typically a 7-9 month return timeline – although return to preinjury levels can be significantly longer – so seeing him in training videos aligns with that timeline.
“The key will be how he responds to training and that jump in intensity.”
How could Rohl use Sterling at Rangers
Sterling has shown in the past that he is versatile and can play either at right-back or centre-back.
The 26-year-old could become an important player for Rohl when he eventually returns to action, as he could free up James Tavernier to play a more advanced role.
- Sterling has made 70 appearances in his two years at Rangers
- He played 34 times last season under Philippe Clement and Barry Ferguson
- He has not featured since April, due to the injury
If Sterling featured at right centre-back, it would allow the captain to push on from his wing-back role and create and score goals.
The former Chelsea academy graduate is also an option at right-back, and could replace Tavernier if Rohl does not fancy using Max Aarons.
It is an exciting prospect for Rohl, who needs all the depth that he can get, to try and get the Gers’ campaign back on track.
