Kevin Thelwell must walk now as crushing Rangers footage emerges
Rangers were beaten yet again on Thursday, with tensions boiling over following the game.
Norwegian side Brann smashed Rangers 3-0, putting an end to any idea of a fairy tale opening game for Danny Rohl.
There was hope that the Gers would benefit from a new manager bounce under the German, but his side were comprehensively bested in every area.
The Brann fans were even heard chanting “sacked in the morning” at Rohl, further emphasising the magnitude of the job the former Sheffield Wednesday boss has on his hands.
The 36-year-old had made attempts to switch up the team, but Yousseff Chermiti repaid him with an awful performance against Brann.

Kevin Thelwell faces the wrath of the Rangers fans
James Tavernier branded Rangers’ performance against Brann “awful”, and the defender could not be more right.
The Gers were played off the park by Brann, and failed to deal with anything thrown at them by the Norwegian side.
| Brann | Match stats | Rangers |
| 53% | Possession | 47% |
| 13 | Shots | 9 |
| 5 | On target | 1 |
| 2.33 | Expected goals (xG) | 1.27 |
| 3 | Big chances | 1 |
| 3 | Corners | 5 |
It was a performance that, at this point, would not have surprised any Rangers fan – but that does not mean it will not have angered them further.
Sporting director Kevin Thelwell and CEO Patrick Stewart were confronted in the airport after the game, with a video captured by Four Lads Had a Dream on Thursday showing several fans launching expletives at the pair.
According to The Famous, Thelwell was given a police escort on route to his flight, further emphasising how toxic the situation has gotten at Rangers.
Just weeks ago, outgoing manager Russell Martin had received a police escort on his way out of the Falkirk Stadium, with angry fans congregating next to the team coach.
Thelwell must walk amid Danny Rohl scenes
After the game, Rohl could be seen approaching the Rangers away end and holding his hands up in apology.
Rohl once again spoke to supporters at the airport and asked for a chance to turn around the situation at Ibrox.
The German should not be the one doing the explaining and the apologising, however. Thelwell, in his brief time at the club, has made poor decision after poor decision.
The sporting director was involved in the dreadful appointment of Martin, and the delay decision-makers took in owning up to their mistake by dismissing the Englishman.
His signings have failed epically, leaving Rohl with a squad that has shown absolutely no sign of an ability to compete in any competition this season.
And the bizarre decisions do not stop there. Thelwell hired his son, Robbie, to the club’s recruitment team – an appointment that received massive criticism.
Still, Thelwell has not apologised once. Now, in truth, words can no longer carry any weight from the former Everton man. He must do what the situation demands, and resign.
