Nicolas Raskin set to finalise Rangers exit as contact made ahead of crucial meeting
Nicolas Raskin could be about to leave Rangers during the January transfer window.
The Belgian had been expected to take on an increasingly important role at Ibrox this season, but he has endured a hugely turbulent campaign so far.
Raskin was frozen out by Russell Martin for several games earlier in the season, and has still started in just four of his side’s seven Premiership games so far.
He was heavily linked with a move away from Govan during the summer transfer window, and it looks as though that could now become a reality this winter.

Nicolas Raskin wants to leave Rangers for Besiktas
Raskin has been linked with a move away from Rangers once again of late, and this time it is Turkish side Besiktas who are showing a real intent to land the midfielder.
Their manager Sergen Yelcin has already given his approval to the pursuit of the 24-year-old, and the cogs are now in motion for a deal that could prize him away from the Gers.
Raskin’s agent is already “in contact” with the hierarchy at Besiktas, and their President Serdal Adali is set to meet with an opposite number from Ibrox in order to “finalise the deal” in the near future, according to Hurriyet.
The Turkish giants are planning to use the positive relationship that they built up with Rangers during the deal for Ridvan Yilmaz as a way of boosting their hopes to land Raskin.

They intend to use the “same channels” to try and strike a deal this time around, and for his part, Raskin is said to be “keen” on a move to Istanbul.

Gers’ new manager holds the key to Nicolas Raskin future
Rangers are closing in on Kevin Muscat as their latest managerial appointment, and if it is him who ultimately steps into the dugout, he will likely have a crucial say over Raskin’s future.
The midfielder has clearly had his nose put out of joint by the falling out with Martin, but that situation could potentially be rectified if the new man quickly highlighted his importance to the team once again.
Raskin was being linked with Premier League clubs in the summer, so for him to potentially be enticed to the Super Lig perhaps suggests an overriding desire to get away from Ibrox, more than an intent to move to a particular league.
That is something that will need to be addressed quickly by whoever becomes the next man at the helm, and the Gers will certainly not want to lose a key player to a move which isn’t a particularly big step up.
