Jim White shares what Rangers sources have confirmed about new manager hunt at Ibrox
Rangers are still no closer to appointing their next manager.
Russell Martin was sacked on 5 October at Ibrox, with the American owners having nine days to make no real progress, after Steven Gerrard turned down a return.
Danny Rohl is said to be the frontrunner for the job, but Kevin Muscat has exploded into the race overnight to take over in Glasgow.
Jim White has shared the latest on the job opening after a busy morning.

Rangers board scrambling for answers with new manager
Muscat appears to be the man that Rangers fans want in charge.
With Dundee United coming to Ibrox on 18 October, it is looking increasingly likely that a permanent appointment will not be made in time for that.
White was speaking on talkSPORT on 14 October, when he shared what he had been told by sources about the ongoing manager hunt.
“Sources have confirmed to talkSPORT that the Glasgow giants still have multiple names on their shortlist,” he said.
“Maybe Kevin Muscat, former player, is one. Maybe Derek McInnes, now of Hearts, he’s said to be appreciated.”
The Rangers board are said to be divided over the appointment, which is simply helping nobody.

Who else has been mentioned at Rangers?
Bo Svensson is another who was touted for the Rangers role, but he has turned it down, in what could actually be a blessing in disguise for those at Ibrox.
Kieran McKenna and Ralph Hassenhuttl are two names on the periphery in Govan, but it appears most likely that it will be Muscat or Rohl in charge next.

Rohl was praised for working miracles with Sheffield Wednesday, and he’d need to do the same at Ibrox.
Rangers are in a real rut again, despite spending millions in the summer, so whoever comes in must make sure they simply win every game – no excuses.
If there is any chance of winning silverware this season, that is only possible with victories, starting against Dundee United, with the hopes that Hearts and Celtic drop points.
Good luck to whoever is next.
