Steven Gerrard return plea emerges at Rangers after Russell Martin sack latest from Ibrox
Steven Gerrard is still well-loved at Rangers despite leaving back in 2021.
The Liverpool legend won the Scottish Premiership with the Gers in the 2020-21 campaign, in what is still the only time they have lifted the trophy since their return to the top-flight.
Now, with Russell Martin continuing to fail at Rangers, fans are beginning to look back at the good times.
The Gers’ 1-1 draw with Falkirk left them eighth, with one win in their first seven league matches.
As a result, with speculation high about Martin’s future at Rangers after he wasn’t seen on the team bus, many are hopeful that Gerrard could return.

David Edgar calls for return of Steven Gerrard
Gerrard was linked with the Rangers job before Martin was appointed in the summer.
Since then, the manager has remained unemployed, with his last job being at Al-Ettifaq.
As a result, with Martin surely not lasting any longer as the Gers manager, the Hearts and Hand Podcast has called for Gerrard to return to Ibrox via X on 5 October.
Founded by David Edgar in 2010, the post simply said: “Bring him home,” with a picture of the former manager.

With Gerrard already linked with the Rangers job yet again in recent weeks, it remains to be seen if a move is made.
Appointment of Gerrard may be only way to win fans back
Given the current toxicity among the Ibrox faithful, the Rangers owners need something big to get fans back on their side.
The experiment of Martin has lasted far too long, and the writing has been on the wall for weeks.
Therefore, the appointment of Gerrard may be the only way to win these fans back, in what has been a dark few months for the Gers.
Hopefully, a deal will be done as soon as possible to ensure Rangers at least qualify for the Champions League again in what has been an awful season to date.
