Russell Martin hours from sack as Sky Sports share breaking Rangers news
Russell Martin reign at Rangers has been nothing short of a disaster.
Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Falkirk was another embarrassing display for Martin, as a squad that took millions to assemble was unable to strike a final blow against a newly promoted side.
Yet, these scenes have become commonplace under the former Southampton and Swansea manager, with the Gers remaining with one win in seven matches in the Scottish Premiership.
Now, after Rangers fans have been calling for Martin to be sacked for weeks, they may finally be about to get their wish.

Rangers discussing Russell Martin’s future after Falkirk draw
Speculation was already high regarding Martin’s future at Rangers after Sunday’s result.
The manager left the stadium in a car with a police escort, with the players remaining on the team coach.
With their few signs that results could improve under the former Ibrox loanee, speculation has only increased as the hours have ticked by.
Now, according to Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph via X on 5 October, Martin’s future at Rangers is now in doubt.

Discussions are now underway at Ibrox after the 1-1 draw with Falkirk.
If the manager is given the boot, he will be the shortest-lived Rangers appointment ever, lasting just 123 days.

Martin will never win over Rangers fans
Even if Martin is kept on at Rangers, the owners are simply delaying the inevitable.
No manager ever survives at a club after losing the support of the fans, something that Martin has been without for weeks.
- Martin has won just five matches in his 17 games in charge
- Many of these wins have come either in the Champions League qualifiers or in the Premier Sports Cup
- As it stands, Rangers sit eight in the Scottish Premiership and are only four points off the foot of the table
The scenes at the end of the Falkirk match showed that the manager was well past his sell-by date and is incapable of picking up even the simplest of results.
While the mess is not entirely down to Martin, his work at Rangers may have sent the Glaswegians back years.
It was later confirmed on Sunday that Martin had been let go after the Falkirk draw.
