Kevin Thelwell puts his son ‘under the microscope’
It was announced on Wednesday that Robbie Thelwell had been appointed as the head of recruitment, much to the dismay of Gers reporters.
Accusations of nepotism and incompetence were thrown at Kevin Thelwell, with his reputation amongst the fanbase stooping to even lower levels.

After Rangers’ loss in Austria, Hutton spoke on TNT Sports about the decision to bring in Robbie Thelwell.
He said: “I thought it was a strange decision, and I think Kevin Thelwell is under pressure himself in terms of the recruitment and everything that’s happened this season.
“To bring in your son, you’re really putting him under the microscope from day one.”
Robbie Thelwell has previously worked for Norwich, Wolves, and Aston Villa, yet fans have no faith in his appointment given the current circumstances at Ibrox.
Andrew Cavenagh wouldn’t have envisioned the chaos that has taken over Govan in recent months, and the staff overhaul doesn’t make for good reading.
With Bears supporters demanding that Martin, Kevin Thelwell, and Patrick Stewart be relieved from their duties two months into the season, the future doesn’t look bright at all under Cavenagh’s stewardship.

Kevin Thelwell has had a turbulent start at Rangers, going under intense scrutiny for some of the transfer business in the summer.
The signings of Emmanuel Fernandez and Youssef Chermiti for astronomical fees have been seen as a clear waste of funds, whilst the decision to send Oscar Cortes out on loan has baffled supporters.
As performances on the pitch failed to improve, fans are unquestionably turning their attention to Kevin Thelwell’s role in the recruitment overhaul over the summer.
Fourteen players joined the Light Blues in the summer, yet only a few of them have shown signs of promise under Martin.
The appointments made this week have angered Rangers fans even more, and Kevin Thelwell is quickly becoming enemy number two in Govan.
