Rangers remove official partner as sweeping changes made around Ibrox
Rangers have been plagued by several issues on and off the pitch this season.
Fan protests took place at Ibrox before Rangers’ 2-0 win against Hibernian in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final on Saturday.
Rangers supporters are furious with Patrick Stewart and Russell Martin as the Govan club somehow sits 11th in the Scottish Premiership.
Sweeping changes have been announced at Ibrox, but it’s not what everyone wants, with an official partner of Rangers now removed from their website.

Rangers remove Guavapay as official partner
Guavapay became Rangers’ official partner in November 2024, and the Light Blues were set to earn £3m a year from the deal.
However, RFC Michael took to X after spotting that Guavapay has been removed from the club website due to unresolved issues with the Financial Conduct Authority.
- Guavapay (the parent company of back-of-shirt sponsor MyGuava) has suspended all customer transactions and services across its consumer platform with immediate effect
- Rangers have removed the Point of Sale payment terminals from around Ibrox
- They’ve reverted to their previous supplier, ‘Sporting Pay’
The deal with Guavapay was said to be hugely beneficial for the Ibrox club, coming out of a time where things weren’t exactly positive on a financial front.
In their 2023 annual report, Rangers had made a loss of £17.2m for the year.
The Guavapay deal was the largest back-of-shirt deal in the club’s history, representing a 45 per cent increase on all previous deals.

Andrew Cavenagh has had a turbulent start to life at Rangers
Chairman of Rangers is not a remotely easy role; however, Cavenagh is doing pretty well to remain as unpopular as he currently is.
The appointment of Martin, Cavenagh’s lack of relationship with the fans, and the direction the club is going are all things that must change in G51.
The removal of Guavapay from the club’s website could be another financial blow the 49ers and Cavenagh have to deal with following the investment put into the squad during the transfer window.
It’ll be interesting to see what deal Rangers will secure next, but there’s no doubt that this news comes at the worst time possible for Cavenagh.
