Rangers defeated Hibs to advance to the semi-finals of the Premier Sports Cup.

Rangers beat Hibs 2-0 courtesy of goals from Nico Raskin and Bojan Miovski.

Miovski moved to Rangers from Girona in the final week of the transfer window, and has already made three starts for the club.

His first goal against Hibs has reminded everyone that he hasn't lost the goalscoring prowess he showed whilst at Aberdeen.

Rangers fan protests heard from the dressing room ahead of Hibs game

Over 1500 supporters gathered outside Ibrox to express their anger over the club's dismal start to the season under Martin.

After the win, Martin admitted his pre-match team talk was drowned out by the fan protests taking place outside Ibrox.

In an article by the Daily Record, Miovski highlights how important the win was amid the noise surrounding the club.

He said: "We know that a lot of things are happening outside of the dressing room, but we need to stick together and focus on football and winning football games.

"No [the protests were not distracting]. As a football player, of course, you have this situation. We know how to manage these things.

"We needed to give a good performance to the fans and to win the game. I’m really looking forward to this team's performances. We dominated the game, we pressed really well and we didn't rush this final pass."

Raskin's header from a corner put Rangers in into the lead, which they quickly doubled through Miovski's close-range finish.

Rangers are looking to win the Premier Sports Cup for a record 29th time, but they'll need to start performing in the league if fan protests are to stop at G51.

Martin still remains under huge pressure as Rangers sit 11th in the William Hill Premiership, but one man that he should be able to count on is Miovski.

Bojan Miovski's form could be key for Russell Martin's future

Miovski's goalscoring exploits will have a huge say in how long Martin will last at Rangers.

The North Macedonia international spent two prolific years at Aberdeen, and knows the ins and outs of Scottish football.

Miovski is preferred up front over Youssef Chermiti, with his experience invaluable for Martin already.

The 26-year-old performed well against Hibs, and if he goes on a scoring run, Martin's future may look more optimistic than it currently does.
