Nicolas Raskin has something ‘unique’ which could lead to Rangers record sale
Rangers fans were delighted as Nicolas Raskin finally returned to the fold against Hibernian.
Raskin was left out in recent weeks after a feud with Russell Martin, and Rangers suffered as a result, failing to score against Celtic and Hearts.
The Belgian international was Rangers’ best player last season, and his absence only increased the anger directed at Martin.
Rangers beat Hibernian 2-0 in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final, with Raskin the best player on the pitch, and after opening the scoring with a powerful header, he has now been commended.

Nicolas Raskin praised for ‘unique’ goalscoring ability
Raskin has thrived at Ibrox in 105 appearances for Rangers, establishing himself as arguably the best midfielder in Scotland.
The 24-year-old is often best as a defensive midfielder, but he has proven to be a menace going forward, and he provided the spark for Rangers to end their goal drought against Hibs.
A James Tavernier corner was met by the head of Raskin, as he thumped in a powerful header to open the scoring, leaving the Hibernian goalkeeper with no chance, and this came as a surprise, given that he is one of the shortest players in the squad at 1.78 metres tall.

“For a vertically challenged footballer, his ability to drift off markers at corner kicks and power headers into the net is unique and adds to his worth no end,” Stephen McGowan wrote in Herald Scotland.
Raskin’s future is up in the air, but Rangers are set to benefit from a potential future sale.

Rangers could sell Nicolas Raskin for record fee
Raskin turned down offers from Turkey at the end of the transfer window, but with his contract set to expire in 2027, a sale next summer now looks likely.
Martin’s treatment of Raskin could have tanked his transfer value, but now he is back in the side and scoring; Rangers could maximise the fee they would get for him.
While fans would love to see Raskin stay, if he continues to prove an attacking threat, he could be targeted by some top clubs in the summer, particularly if he features at the World Cup with Belgium.
Rangers’ record sale is Calvin Bassey, who joined Ajax in 2022, but the Govan club will hope that any fee for Raskin could eclipse this if he has another strong campaign at Ibrox.
