Celtic surprise emerges as Rangers nab ‘bargain’ transfer from Old Firm rivals’ noses
Rangers had a busy summer transfer window as they brought in 14 players after heavy investment.
Sporting director Kevin Thelwell has been questioned over some of the signings at Rangers, as a record fee was spent on Youssef Chermiti, and others have struggled to settle.
Russell Martin’s side have struggled as a unit, but Rangers did make some good signings, with Djeidi Gassama among those who instantly impressed.
There was one particularly shrewd signing which has caused excitement at Ibrox, and Rangers fans will be delighted that they beat Celtic to his signature.

This article contains exclusive opinion from former Rangers star Derek Ferguson.
Derek Ferguson hails Bojan Miovski transfer
Rangers lost strikers Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane in the summer, but have pulled off a masterstroke in signing Bojan Miovski from Girona.
Former Aberdeen striker Miovski scored his first Rangers goal in the victory over Hibernian, and his experience in Scotland could make him an outstanding addition.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, former Rangers star Derek Ferguson praised the signing of Miovski, and said he is surprised Celtic didn’t go in for him.
“He’s been in this league and is proven. He’s not just a goalscorer but a good all-rounder who can do a lot of different things,” Ferguson stated.

“It’s a bargain. I felt Rangers should have gone for him a few years ago and I’ll tell you now, I’m surprised Celtic never went for him this summer.
“We’re lucky we’ve got him on board. He’s a proven player in the Scottish league who we know will score goals.”

Bojan Miovski needs more service
It is clear that Miovski has both the talent and the experience to succeed in Scotland, having thrived with Aberdeen in the past, but so far, Martin’s tactics have not played to his strengths.
Rangers have struggled for creativity under Martin, and this has starved Miovski of service, with the striker’s teammates barely creating any opportunities for him.
The Gers need to solve their creative issues if Miovski is to succeed. If presented with chances, the attacker is a strong finisher who could step up for Rangers in the biggest games, and is expected to lead the line over Chermiti.
