Rangers chief ‘thrilled’ as out-of-window transfer completed at Ibrox
Rangers added 13 new players to their squad in the previous transfer window.
It’s safe to say that most of the signings from last summer have underwhelmed, as Kevin Thelwell’s recruitment strategy is being questioned at Ibrox.
The Light Blues also sold some key players recently, with Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers the most significant exits from G51.
Nicolas Raskin was also being linked to Fenerbahce and Besiktas as the Turkish transfer window ran until 12 September, but the midfielder ended up staying at the Glaswegian outfit.

Zebedee Lawson signs for Rangers Academy, David McCallum reacts
Former Brighton youngster Zebedee Lawson has signed for the Gers’ Academy.
The Light Blues have confirmed that the 16-year-old will be joining Stevie Smith’s Under-19 team.
David McCallum is delighted to have the highly-rated 16-year-old at the Glaswegian outfit after registering four goal contributions in 13 appearances for the Seagulls’ Under-18 side last season.
Speaking on 19 September, the interim Head of Academy said: “We are thrilled that Zebedee has chosen Rangers as the next destination in his young career. He is a very exciting player that our Academy recruitment team, headed up by James Fowler, have been tracking extensively for some time.
“As well as our commitment to nurturing and developing our own talent through the ranks, we must be active as a club in monitoring and securing young players with potential from elsewhere. We are very much looking forward to working with Zebedee and seeing his development over the coming years in our environment here at Rangers.”

Russell Martin should trust youngsters more at Ibrox
Findlay Curtis could potentially help save Russell Martin, as the under-fire manager fights for his future at Ibrox.
The 18-year-old forward was a key player for the Gers at the start of the season, scoring against Panathinaikos in the Champions League, but has since found game time hard to come by at Ibrox.
With the Light Blues making several additions to their front line in the previous transfer window, the Scottish youngster’s opportunities have been hindered.

Martin has undoubtedly failed to live up to his promises at Rangers after claiming he was appointed to develop young players.
With the likes of Zander Hutton leaving on loan, and with Bailey Rice and Curtis not involved much, the Scottish manager has shown an aversion to relying on the Gers’ academy.
During Lawson’s time at Brighton, he showed a lot of potential cutting inside from the right and scoring goals, which is something the Glaswegian outfit should be looking to build on.
