Neil McCann rages at footage of ‘horrible’ Nasser Djiga incident in Rangers vs Club Brugge
Rangers have left Neil McCann fuming with their first-half performance against Club Brugge.
Rangers go in at the break 3-0 down against Club Brugge on Tuesday (19 August) after a terrible start for the Light Blues at Ibrox.
With just 20 minutes on the clock, the away side had a three-goal advantage to celebrate as boos rang from the stands against Russel Martin and his players.
There is no getting away from how turgid the performance was in the opening 45 in Govan as Romeo Vermant, Jorne Spileers and Brandon Mechele got on the scoresheet for the Belgians.
It was the opening goal of the night, which sparked fury from Neil McCann in G51 as he took out his frustrations on Nasser Djiga.

Neil McCann left fuming by Djiga vs Club Brugge
In the worst possible scenario for Rangers, they are staring a Champions League exit in the face just one half into a two-legged clash with the Pro League side.
There is little positive to speak of for the Bears, with Joe Rothwell’s post-striking free kick being the only moment of any quality for the hosts.
On the flip side of this came a moment of madness from summer signing from Wolves, Djiga, who handed Vermant the perfect chance to score the opener.

The 22-year-old looked to leave a loose ball for Jack Butland to recover, not that there was ever enough on it to reach the Englishman.
This gave the Brugge man the opportunity to loop a ball over the Gers keeper and into the back of the net to make it 1-0.
It is fair to say that McCann was left raging by this shoddy defending while commentating live from Ibrox for Amazon Prime (19 August, 8:04pm).
He said: “As a manager, you just can’t legislate for something like that. Djiga is in full control, just run back and play it to Butland.
“I honestly have no explanation for what Djiga is thinking about there. That is a horrible mess up. What a horror story start for Rangers”

Russell Martin future hangs in balance at Rangers
After just months at the helm at Rangers, Russell Martin is already under huge pressure.
There is no doubting just how important Champions League football is for the Light Blues and now it looks to have slipped away from them.
Having already secured big wins against Panathinaikos and Viktoria Plzen, the Gers looked to be on a good path.
The mat has quickly been pulled away from under Martin’s feet and is now facing the wrath of the Ibrox crowd, with some demanding the sack already.
- Martin has overseen three wins in charge of Rangers
- Disappointing draws against Dundee and Motherwell were hugely frustrating
- Defeat against Club Brugge over two legs could be the final straw
The 49ers and Andrew Cavenagh can’t wait around for too long, so moving on the ex-Southampton boss may be on the cards within weeks.
