Tottenham make Mikey Moore announcement ahead of Rangers debut
Rangers pulled off a coup when they signed Mikey Moore on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
Moore is one of the biggest talents in the Tottenham academy, and there was interest from several Championship sides in the attacker.
The teenager has since moved up north to join Rangers on loan, but is yet to make his debut as his paperwork was not finalised before a disappointing draw with Dundee.
Moore is now ready to make his debut against Alloa in the League Cup, and Spurs have now made a significant announcement about him.

Moore signs new Tottenham contract
Rangers no not have an option to buy in the loan deal which saw Moore move to Ibrox, and it is clear that Tottenham rate him highly for the future.
Spurs have now officially announced that Moore has signed a new long-term deal, with this now possible as he has just turned 18.
- Moore signed before Rangers’ matches against Viktoria and Dundee, but could not be registered in time to play.
- Rangers beat several Championship sides to his signature, and it is likely that he will have a regular starting role.
Moore made 21 appearances in all competitions for Spurs last season, and is now ready for more regular football to continue his development.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 10 | 0 | 1 |
Europa League | 5 | 1 | 1 |
FA Cup | 2 | 0 | 0 |
EFL Cup | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Russell Martin played a big part in bringing Moore to Rangers, and he will now hope that the 18-year-old can make an instant impact to help his side’s fortunes improve.
Rangers unlikely to keep Moore
Moore’s move to Rangers is a straight loan deal, and is set to stay that way regardless of how well or badly he does at Ibrox.
It is clear that Spurs see Moore as one of their best prospects, and letting him go permanently will not even be considered.
Rangers will now benefit from the loan deal as they have recruited an attacker who has shown a lot of promise and can play in several different positions.
Moore will play at Rangers for a season before likely returning to Spurs, and his move will see him start regularly under Martin as he attempts to help the Gers find success again.
