Rangers round-up: Barry Ferguson speaks out as Karl Hein update emerges at Arsenal
Rangers’ campaign is well underway already but they are still active in the transfer market.
Russell Martin has already brought in nine players, and there are no signs that business is slowing down in Govan.
For now, though, his focus will be on trying to bounce back from the draw with Motherwell domestically and continuing their good progress in the Champions League.
Here, Ibrox News rounds up the latest Gers updates from 8 August.

Yilmaz medical issues emerge as Rangers star agrees personal terms
Ridvan Yilmaz’s injury issues may scupper a Rangers exit.
The Turkish left-back has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Besiktas over a move back to his home country.
However, they may take a closer look at his medical record, according to Dr Rajpal Brar, an expert in physical therapy and sports science.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, he said: “Besiktas will likely take a closer look at his hamstring injury history to assess recurrence risk and gauge if there’s anything outside of normal variance that they aren’t comfortable with.
“His fitness record is far from impressive, so that’s always a concern for a new club signing him.
“However, as he’s played in the league before, the adaptation would be easier and he’s still young at 24.”
Martin shares double blow for Rangers v Dundee
Martin shared an update on two Rangers stars ahead of the clash with Dundee on 9 August.
Mikey Moore will miss out due to registration issues, and Hamza Igamane is not fit enough to feature, according to the Gers boss.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, he said: “Moore is just not there, a lot of protocols need to go through for Under-18s.
“Hamza [Igamane] missed two weeks with visa issues and picked up a small injury in the first game, so we are building him back up to avoid any injuries. He is a great lad and just needs to get fully fit.”
| Stats | Igamane 24/25 |
| Matches | 33 |
| Goals | 12 |
| Assists | 1 |
| Chances created per 90 | 1.68 |
| Shots per 90 | 4.13 |
Hein transfer stance emerges from Arsenal amid Rangers interest
Rangers are interested in Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein, and a transfer could be closer after a new reveal.
A report from Mirror (8 August) claims that Levante are keen on signing the Estonian stopper on loan this summer.
However, it states that the Gunners would prefer a permanent exit and are encouraging bids from other clubs.
That could be great news for the Light Blues as they look for a new goalkeeper.

Ferguson speaks out on controversial Martin call
Barry Ferguson has defended Russell Martin after his decision to drop two Gers stars for the 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen.
James Tavernier and Nicolas Raskin were not in the starting line-up for the Champions League third qualifying round contest, which was a controversial call.
However, Ferguson admitted that he respected the new Gers boss for his bold decision.
Speaking to the Daily Record (8 August), he said: “Let me be very clear on this: I have a lot of respect for both of these guys. They are excellent football players and, more importantly, thoroughly good people.
“So it will have been really tough for the manager to have to tell them his decision.
“But Russell Martin is showing already that he is not afraid to do what he thinks is best for the team and I have massive respect for that.”
