Rabbi Matondo wages ‘eye-watering’ as new Rangers reveal drops in exit update
Rabbi Matondo has struggled ever since his move to Rangers.
The Gers signed the 24-year-old from Schalke in 2022 in a £2.5million deal, but he has failed to have the required impact.
He has notched eight goals and 11 assists in 67 matches for the Light Blues, which is not good enough for a side that is competing for the Scottish Premiership title.
The Welshman spent last season on loan at Hannover 96 and it seems like he is not in Russell Martin‘s plans for the new season.

Matondo exit update drops as new Rangers reveal made
It is safe to say that Matondo has not hit the heights that were expected of him at Ibrox, and he has been linked with an exit.
Andy Newport claims in the print edition of the Daily Record (page 57, 19 July) that paying off Matondo will not be a cheap endeavour for the Gers.
He states that the Welsh winger is on an “eye-watering” wage in Govan, understood to be around the £30,000-a-week mark.

Rangers need to get rid of Matondo
The new majority ownership, the 49ers Enterprises group and Andrew Cavenagh, need to bite the bullet and shift Matondo, another issue from the previous regime that they have had to resolve.
Ex-Rangers star Derek Ferguson told Ibrox News that he would not be surprised if his former club decide to terminate the 15-cap international’s contract.
It has just not worked out in Govan, with injuries severely hampering his time in Scottish football, and it is time for a fresh challenge for all involved.
The Gers’ squad is expanding under Martin, with seven new additions as well as the permanent addition of Oscar Cortes after his loan spell last time out.
Therefore, there is no space for Matondo, and his latest injury issue, which will keep him out of the Champions League qualifier with Panathinaikos (22 July) will not help his case of redeeming his career with the Bears.
It makes sense for both parties to come to an agreement, even if it is expensive for the Auchenhowie outfit, as it is never going to work out for the ex-Manchester City star in Govan.
