‘Coady to jet out of Leicester in days’ after Rangers transfer sign-off

Rangers may finally complete a move for Leicester City defender Conor Coady this transfer window in the coming days.

The 32-year-old joined the Foxes in 2023, but his future at the King Power Stadium remains uncertain after relegation from the Premier League.

Coady’s move to Ibrox has been delayed as the Championship outfit work on appointing a new manager, which will likely be Marti Cifuentes.

Russell Martin wants the ex-Wolves centre-back at the Glaswegian outfit, and the situation regarding his transfer could potentially conclude soon.

Rangers transfer wanted this week as Coady pleads for Leicester pre-season omission

Coady has been pushing Leicester to sign off his move to the Gers with the hope of arriving this week, according to the Daily Record.

The news outlet reports (15 July) that the English centre-back is set to plead with the Foxes to omit him from the pre-season tour in order to seal a transfer to Ibrox soon.

It’s been claimed that the 32-year-old hopes to be given permission in the coming days to join the Light Blues as they prepare to face Panathinaikos in the Champions League qualifier.

Martin admires the centre-back, who’s desperate to be unveiled at the Glaswegian outfit, and he will certainly jet out immediately if the Champions outfit agree on an exit.

Coady would be a brilliant addition at Ibrox and would arguably provide much-needed experience and quality to the Gers’ backline.

The Light Blues have already signed Emmanuel Fernandez and Nasser Djiga as the Scottish manager looks to build a competitive squad ahead of next season.

Kevin Thelwell to make exit decisions after Coady transfer

Trabzonspor have expressed interest in John Souttar, and the Glaswegian outfit have a significant call to make as the Scotland international’s contract expires next year.

Rangers undoubtedly wouldn’t want to lose the former Hearts defender as a free agent at the end of next season, but he’s one of their key players right now.

Coady’s arrival may help Kevin Thelwell make a ruthless decision on Souttar’s exit, with Martin having plenty of options in his backline.

The situation in G51 will certainly be one to keep an eye on as the Ibrox faithful hope for more incomings after Djeidi Gassama’s announcement.
