Rangers ‘have to sell Hamza Igamane’ as £10m+ transfer claim emerges

Hamza Igamane could potentially leave Ibrox soon, just a year after completing a transfer to Rangers from AS FAR.

LOSC Lille want to sign the Morocco international, but the Gers’ asking price has spooked them for now.

Igamane is also attracting interest from Olympique Marseille, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for the 22-year-old in the coming weeks.

Having bought the centre-forward for £1.5million last summer, the Light Blues seemingly have a no-brainer decision to make regarding his transfer.

Igamane should be sold by Rangers for over £10m this transfer window

Igamane should be if the Gers receive anything over £10m for him this summer, Scott McDermott says.

The Daily Record journalist believes the Light Blues have to accept an eight-figure offer for the Moroccan youngster after his breakout season at Ibrox.

McDermott feels fans will find it hard to see the 22-year-old leave so soon, but the Glaswegian outfit need to adopt such a player trading model.

The Scottish journalist wrote in the Record (28 June): “If Rangers are offered anything more than £10m for Igamane, they have to take it after paying just £1.5m a year ago. It’s tough for fans to see a prodigious talent leave early, but that’s the player trading model the club needs to adopt.”

Kevin Thelwell has chance to cash in on Igamane transfer

Igamane’s stock is high at Ibrox right now after some impressive displays for the Gers last season.

Philippe Clement had faith in the young striker to replace Cyriel Dessers in the starting lineup, and he showed massive potential.

Barry Ferguson’s appointment derailed the Morocco international’s development at the Light Blues, as he struggled to secure regular minutes under the interim manager.

Rangers have an opportunity to cash in on Igamane this summer, and there’s no guarantee that similar offers will arrive for the youngster next year.

Ferguson clearly expected much more from the 22-year-old during his time at Ibrox, and Russell Martin may have the same view.

If the former Southampton boss doesn’t play the Moroccan centre-forward regularly, there’s a chance his valuation may decrease in the coming months.

While the Ibrox faithful expect Igamane to be even better next season, the future is unpredictable, and a potential injury could be a significant blow for the striker.

There’s a lot of interest in the 22-year-old right now, but only time will tell whether the Glaswegian outfit capitalise on it.
