Igamane on verge of Rangers exit as personal terms agreed with Euro club
Hamza Igamane’s time as a Rangers player looks to be edging closer to the end.
Russell Martin already faces a difficult task of getting Rangers back to being a side who are capable of challenging Celtic for domestic success, though that task looks set to get even harder this summer.
Recruitment at Ibrox is going to be essential, though retaining those who shone the most last season will be just as important, and Igamane is one of a handful of players to fit the bill for that.
However, their attempts to see Igamane remain in Glasgow much longer appear to be stumbling, with terms now agreed on an exit from the Light Blues.

Rangers set to lose Igamane
It wasn’t exactly a season to remember from a club point of view last season, though it certainly was from Igamane‘s personal perspective, though that ultimately comes at a cost for Rangers.
His form in Scotland attracted interest from across Europe, with Tottenham one of those said to have held an interest, but according to Sacha Tavolieri via X (26 June), the forward has now agreed terms to sign for Lille.
Competition | Matches | Goals | Assists | Yellow Cards | Reds | Minutes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Scottish Premiership | 29 | 11 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 1,744 |
UEFA Europa League | 10 | 4 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 455 |
Scottish Premiership Top Six Split | 4 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 239 |
Scottish League Cup | 2 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 123 |
Scottish FA Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 90 |
Total 24/25 | 46 | 16 | 3 | 5 | 0 | 2,651 |
With Canadian international Jonathan David leaving, Lille have been well aware of the need to replace him, and it seems as though Igamane will be the chosen one.
The four-time French champions held talks on Wednesday (25 June), with talks now underway with the Gers to agree on the final fee for his transfer.
Martin in dire need of attacking signings
With Cyriel Dessers also potentially on his way out, Rangers could end the month without a striker, with pre-season edging ever closer.
For Martin, that would be a nightmare and would make planning for the new campaign significantly harder if a replacement isn’t through the door before those sessions get underway.
Replacing the goals of the two potential departees will not be an easy task, though it is one that the Light Blues will need to succeed at if they are to have any chance of breaking their run of domestic shortcomings.
