Hamza Igamane has fallen victim to Cyriel Dessers' form at Rangers over the last few months.

With nothing left to play for, Rangers will already have one eye on the summer transfer window in a bid to strengthen their side for what they hope will be a title push next season.

Last month's Europa League defeat to Athletic Bilbao ended any hopes of the Light Blues winning a trophy this season, leaving them in a very unfamiliar position.

Throughout that period, Dessers has been contributing plenty in terms of goals, and that has had a big impact on Igamane and the role he has had at Ibrox since.

Dessers has dethroned Igmane at Rangers

Dessers was on the score sheet again for the Gers as they held Celtic to a 1-1 draw on Sunday, taking his total goal tally up to 25 for the season.

Despite scoring on a regular basis, Dessers has come in for a lot of criticism at Ibrox, with Tom English labelling his current scenario as "bizarre".

Dessers has 31 goal contributions for the Light Blues this season in all competitions.

However, with him scoring goals, Igamane has often found himself on the bench, and with Tottenham previously showing an interest in signing him, there is a high chance that he looks to push for a transfer in the summer, in a bid to find regular football.

If Rangers do sell, he will likely command a pretty fee, which could benefit the Light Blues as they look to initiate thei rebuild for next season and beyond.

Rangers need to make the right decisions this summer

For far too long now, Rangers have been incapable of competing with Celtic for domestic success, and that needs to change imminently.

However, without the right recruitment and planning, it's unlikely to happen anytime soon, showcasing the importance of getting things right this summer.

If either Igamane or Dessers depart Ibrox, Rangers will have a huge task on their hands to find a suitable replacement, while also being on the lookout for their next permanent manager, with Barry Ferguson likely to leave.
