‘Russell Martin to thank’ as player arrives in Glasgow for Rangers medical
Russell Martin looks set to oversee a major rebuild at Rangers this summer.
The former Southampton and Norwich City boss has been trusted with the responsibility of leading the Bears forward by Andrew Cavanagh and the 49ers, and he looks set to have a busy summer on his hands as he prepares the team for next season.
It has been a fairly quiet transfer window so far at Ibrox, with the majority of the focus on fending off interest for the likes of Nicolas Raskin.
Lyall Cameron has been the only new face to secure a move to the Govan outfit so far, but that could be about to change.

Max Aarons undergoes Rangers medical
Martin will be under plenty of pressure during his early stages at Rangers, as the club undergoes something of an identity shift behind the scenes.
The 39-year-old will be desperate to begin to mould the team into his image, and a huge part of that will come down to the club’s business in the transfer market.
Martin already looks set to bring in one of his former players, with Max Aarons currently in Glasgow to finalise a loan move to Rangers, according to Sky Sports (24 June, 4:31pm).
The Bournemouth right-back is expected to complete his medical and an announcement is likely to come from Rangers within the next few days.
It is also believed that the Scottish Premiership giants do not have an obligation to buy Aarons as part of the deal.

Rangers have Martin to thank for ‘incredible’ Aarons signing
Martin’s previous Southampton stint has been a source of controversy for Rangers fans, but it is no surprise to see the new boss now trying to lean on players who have performed well for him in the past as he establishes himself at Ibrox.
Aarons recently referred to Martin as being like a “father figure” to him during his time with the Canaries, and the Bears’ chief will surely have played a huge role in convincing the defender to make the switch north of the border.
There is plenty of reason for Rangers fans to be excited about Aarons. He is a player who has been earmarked for a big future since his early days at Norwich, having reached 200 appearances for the Norfolk outfit before he even turned 23.
That achievement was previously branded “incredible” by his former teammate Ben Gibson, and Aarons will surely be keen to kick on and establish himself as a key figure under Martin once again.
