Suman set for transfer as winner named in Rangers race for goalkeeper
Nick Suman had reportedly caught the eye of Rangers and Brighton after impressive performances as a teenager.
Now 25, the Australian goalkeeper is contracted to Cove Rangers, but will be leaving next month as his contract is expiring.
He’s also played in the A-League for Western Sydney Wanderers, but will feature in the Scottish first tier next season.

Aberdeen win race to sign Suman
According to the Sun (26 May), Aberdeen have won the race to secure the services of Suman this summer.
Dundee United, Hibs and Motherwell all targeted the 25-year-old for a summer move, but will be missing out on his signature.

His early performances in Australia caught the eye of Rangers and Premier League side Brighton, who even took him on trial.
However, at the time, a move to the United Kingdom did not materialise for the young goalkeeper.
Now, with his deal at Cove Rangers expiring, the Dons have taken advantage and he’s set to be part of Jimmy Thelin’s side for next season.

Rangers must seriously consider a new keeper this summer
Rangers must prioritise signing a new goalkeeper this summer, as Jack Butland’s inconsistency and Liam Kelly’s limitations highlight the need for a reliable, transformative presence in goal.
Butland, despite occasional brilliance, has shown lapses in concentration, with high-profile errors in key matches, such as conceding soft goals in high-stakes encounters, undermining Gers’ title aspirations.
His form has dipped, raising doubts about his reliability.
Kelly, while a solid backup and showing flashes of quality, lacks the commanding presence and consistency to be a game-changer for a club aiming to dominate the Scottish Premiership and compete in Europe.
His distribution and handling under pressure often falter in high-stakes moments.
Targeting a mid-20s goalkeeper with ambition would be ideal.
Such a player, hungry to prove themselves and eyeing a future at a top European club, could provide long-term stability, sharp reflexes and modern ball-playing ability, aligning with Davide Ancelotti’s potential vision and Rangers’ need to reclaim dominance.
