Rangers now ‘on verge’ of sealing new manager appointment
Rangers appear to have reached the final stage of their recruitment process for the next permanent manager.
The Ibrox outfit announced that Barry Ferguson has left the club and that the process to hire Philippe Clement’s permanent replacement is ongoing.
A number of candidates have been linked with the Ibrox hot seat and the 55-time champions are keen on making a decision as soon as possible.

Davide Ancelotti appears to be in talks with Gers after Carlo Ancelotti revelation
In his first press conference as Brazil manager, Carlo Ancelotti was asked about his son Davide.
Davide has been his assistant at his last few clubs and the fact that he’s not part of the coaching setup there raised questions about his future.
Carlo confirmed that it was because he was in negotiations with a European team.
In case the negotiations don’t go as planned, he will be welcomed back into the first-team staff.
Club | Role |
Paris Saint-Germain | Fitness coach |
Real Madrid | Fitness coach |
Bayern Munich | Assistant manager |
Napoli | Assistant manager |
Everton | Assistant manager |
Real Madrid | Assistant manager |
However, Davide does seem to be keen on kick-starting his managerial career and the side he’s in talks with could be Rangers, as he’s the frontrunner to get the job.
Carlo said: “Davide is currently in negotiations with a European team, and it didn’t seem right to bring him in.
“If he goes to a club, I wish him the best, and if not, he can come back to us.”

Rangers fans will surely be excited by Ancelotti’s imminent arrival
Rangers fans can expect an exciting, modern approach from Ancelotti, whose potential appointment brings a blend of elite experience and fresh ambition.
Having assisted his father, Carlo, at clubs like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, the 35-year-old likely favours a flexible, possession-based style with high pressing and tactical adaptability, tailored to opponents and squad strengths.
His focus on assessing players early suggests a hands-on approach to maximise Rangers’ current squad.
Fans can anticipate a dynamic, attacking setup, addressing past frustrations with rigid play, though his lack of head-coaching experience may require patience.
With 49ers’ backing, Ancelotti could attract quality signings, aiming to challenge Celtic and succeed in Europe.
