The Scottish midfielder has already shone against Rangers this season, providing an assist in the 1-1 draw at the turn of the year.

With Lyall Cameron already signing a pre-contract agreement, the Bears are keen on getting Mulligan to do the same.

Kevin Thelwell has arrived at Ibrox and will be spearheading the club’s pursuit in the transfer market this summer.

Thelwell must bring Mulligan to Ibrox this summer

Signing Mulligan on a free transfer would be a cost-effective move, providing squad depth and versatility while allowing financial resources to be allocated to other key signings.

The 22-year-old Dundee star is a dynamic player capable of playing as a midfielder, wing-back, or right-back, offering tactical flexibility.

His athleticism, demonstrated by five assists in the Scottish Premiership this season and his ability to contribute to attacking plays, make him a valuable utility player.

With Rangers needing to bolster their squad to challenge Celtic, Mulligan’s signing on a pre-contract agreement would incur no transfer fee, preserving funds for high-priority targets like a proven goal-scorer or a James Tavernier replacement.

His homegrown status also aligns with Nils Koppen’s interest in Scottish talent, potentially improving fan relations.

By securing Mulligan for free, Gers can strategically redirect their budget to address critical areas, enhancing their competitiveness in the title race without financial strain.
