Vaclav Cerny to Celtic transfer bombshell as star Rangers player nears exit
Vaclav Cerny will leave Rangers once his loan expires, and a massive transfer claim has been made regarding a potential move to Celtic.
The Gers signed the Czechia international on loan from Wolfsburg until the end of the season last summer, and he’ll be on his way out soon.
Cerny’s move to Ibrox could be made permanent with the £5.5million buy option included in the original deal, but whether the Light Blues will trigger it remains to be seen.
With the 27-year-old’s future uncertain at the moment, an enormous suggestion has been made that would leave the Bears’ fans unsettled.

Celtic tipped to complete Cerny transfer next summer
Cerny would be a good signing for Celtic if they get him next summer, Fraser Clarke has said.
The Daily Record journalist questions whether the Czech national could potentially be tempted to move to Parkhead in the upcoming transfer window.
Competition (2024/25) | Appearances | Goal(s) | Assist(s) |
Scottish Premiership | 28 | 11 | 2 |
Europa League | 12 | 6 | 2 |
Scottish Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Premier Sports Cup | 4 | 0 | 2 |
Champions League Qualifying | 2 | 0 | 1 |
With Greg Taylor linked with a move to Ibrox, Clarke has suggested the 27-year-old winger’s switch to the Hoops in the coming months.
Speaking on Game On, as relayed by the Daily Record (18 April), the journalist said: “We’ve spoken about Taylor being linked with Rangers. Could Cerny be tempted to go the other way? I think he’d improve Celtic and be a good signing for them. There would be no controversy. I’m sure, it would be no bother!”

Rangers must complete permanent transfer for Cerny
Cerny has already expressed a willingness to work under Barry Ferguson beyond this season, and the Gers must do everything in their power to sign him.
The Light Blues have endured a difficult campaign, but the Czech forward has been a standout star despite their struggles.
It would make sense for the Bears to sign the 27-year-old for £5.5m after what he’s done this season.
Rangers should also stick by Ferguson as the players seem to be enjoying playing under him.
While the Gers will be disappointed about being eliminated from the Europa League, they put up an excellent fight against Athletic Club in the quarter-finals.
The Light Blues now have nothing left to pay for other than the remaining Scottish Premiership fixtures, which are inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.
Celtic look favourites to win the title again, and their monopoly in the league must end once Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises complete their takeover of the Bears.
The Gers will need to keep players like Cerny to compete with their Old Firm rivals next season, but only time will tell what the future holds for the Wolfsburg loanee.
