Vaclav Cerny transfer: Rangers ‘move wanted’ as discussions set to take place

Vaclav Cerny could potentially stay at Rangers beyond this season, as discussions may take place soon ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The 27-year-old is on loan at the Gers from Wolfsburg until the end of the season and has been one of the key players for them this season.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Light Blues push for Cerny’s permanent transfer at Ibrox in the coming months, but they will have to pay £6.75million to do so.

The Czech international started for the Bears as they beat Celtic at Parkhead, highlighting his influence even with a change in manager.

Rangers transfer wanted by Cerny as discussions to take place

Cerny wants to stay at the Glaswegian outfit beyond his loan spell from Wolfsburg.

When asked whether he would like to continue in Scotland, the 27-year-old said that he would definitely hope for that outcome.

Cerny admits that things are out of his hands but expects talks over his future to take place sooner rather than later.

Speaking to iSport (18 March), the Czech national said: “Definitely. But there are so many aspects that I can’t influence. The only thing I can do is be the best I can, keep up my form and numbers. I’m not afraid that my continuation will come up and be discussed.”

Barry Ferguson will want Cerny transfer

Barry Ferguson’s continuity at Rangers seems more realistic now that he has beaten Jose Mourinho and Brendan Rodgers.

The Gers beat Celtic 3-2 at Parkhead after a late goal from Hamza Igamane, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the interim boss stay beyond this season.

Cerny has continued in the starting lineup under the former Scotland international despite some changes to the setup.

Clinton Nsiala, Ianis Hagi and Igamane had become key players for Philippe Clement, but Ferguson hasn’t been afraid to drop them to the bench.

The fans have embraced the Czechia International after a tough start to life at the Glaswegian outfit.

Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are in talks to take over at Ibrox, and the Americans may have the financial capital to pursue a deal for Cerny in the coming months.

The Light Blues will be hoping to compete with Celtic next season in the Scottish Premiership, and the 27-year-old’s transfer will arguably boost those chances.

Ferguson will also evidently want the Wolfsburg loanee to stay if he continues as manager.
