Lennon Miller transfer: ‘Crazy’ Rangers admission made after Celtic development

Rangers and Celtic could potentially lock heads soon to sign Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller in the summer transfer window.

The Gers have already agreed to a pre-contract with Dundee youngster Lyall Cameron to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

Connor Barron was also signed from Aberdeen on a bargain deal, as the Light Blues seem to have set their focus on Scottish talent.

Miller, 18, is another gem that has emerged in the Scottish Premiership this season, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Bears eyeing a move soon.

Rangers set for Miller transfer after 49ers Enterprises takeover

It would be crazy if the Gers didn’t make a move for Miller once the 49ers Enterprises complete their takeover, Keith Jackson says.

The Daily Record journalist believes the Light Blues should be interested in the Motherwell midfielder after a financial boost from the American consortium’s potential arrival.

Jackson has advised Celtic to seal the deal before the end of the season and wouldn’t be surprised if that ends up happening.

Speaking on Hotline Live (4 March), the journalist said: “Rangers are about to change financially. It would be crazy if they weren’t looking at Miller.

“So, if you’re Celtic, get that deal done. You can get it done in advance. It can all be done well advance before the summer window opens and it’s ready to go day one. I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest.”

49ers must challenge Celtic for Miller transfer

Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe could soon be the new decision-makers at the Gers as talks are being held over buying 51 per cent of the shares at Ibrox.

The American consortium will undoubtedly need to flex their financial muscles to turn things around at the Glaswegian outfit.

Cavenagh and Marathe have made guarantees at Ibrox, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them fund a revolution at the Light Blues in the coming months.

The Bears have been miles behind their Old Firm rivals over the years, having won just one Scottish Premiership in the last 11 years.

It looks like Celtic will pip the Gers in the league once again as they sit 16 points ahead of them in the table.

Philippe Clement was handed the reins at the Light Blues after Michael Beale’s disastrous tenure, but the Belgian manager clearly wasn’t the right man for the job.

Barry Ferguson has a big task on his hands after taking interim charge, and it remains to be seen whether the ex-midfielder can help the Bears end the season on a high note.

Miller’s signing would be a statement of intent from the new owners, and an approach for him should be a no-brainer.
