Cyriel Dessers exit: Agent reveals Rangers transfer offers in shock twist
Rangers star Cyriel Dessers had 10 offers to leave Ibrox in the winter transfer window, Stijn Francis has claimed in a new reveal.
The Nigerian’s agent claimed that the Gers star had multiple suitors before the 3 February deadline, with loan proposals not entertained.
The 30-year-old was linked with an exit throughout the window but ended up staying in Govan for the second half of the campaign.
Francis told Sporza, via voetbalnieuws: “He had ten offers, but the market is much more difficult at that time. Many wanted to rent him, but Rangers only wanted to sell.”
Dessers can be an asset for Rangers going forward
The Nigeria international had fallen down the pecking order under Philippe Clement earlier this season, with the likes of Hamza Igamane and Danilo surpassing him.
However, he has experienced a mini-revival in recent weeks, with six goals and an assist in his last six appearances for the Bears.
A hat-trick against Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup and goals against Aberdeen, Manchester United and Dundee United have given Dessers a new lease of life at Ibrox in the last month.

In total this season, he has notched 18 goals and six assists in 37 appearances in all competitions for the Light Blues.
If Dessers continues to perform, he could force his way into Clement’s plans permanently or bag the club a significant fee in the summer transfer window.
Either one would be a victory for the Govan outfit, so it will be a tough decision if his momentum continues through the second half of the campaign.
