Ridvan Yilmaz could still leave Rangers until 11 February after twist
Besiktas insist on signing Ridvan Yilmaz from Rangers before the Turkish transfer deadline, according to Haberturk.
The news outlet reports (4 February) that the defender remains at the top of their wishlist, with the winter window for the Super Lig outfit closing on 11 February.
While Besiktas have been in contact with the 23-year-old for some time, he’s reluctant to leave Ibrox at the moment.
The Light Blues rejected a loan offer with a buy option for the left-back from the Istanbul club.
Ridvan Yilmaz transfer to Turkey from Rangers still possible
While the transfer window in Scotland closed at 11pm on Monday (3 February), the Bears still need to be wary of approaches from some foreign outfits.
It remains to be seen whether the Turkish outfit will finally be able to break the Glaswegian outfit’s reluctance to sell Yilmaz.
The defender hasn’t been the first name of the team sheet under Philippe Clement, but the Gers won’t be able to replace him if he does leave.
Rangers need to maintain depth in their squad, as they are still alive in the Europa League and the Scottish Cup.

The Light Blues have won direct qualification to the final 16 of the European competition and will wait for the play-offs to know who their next opponents will be.
At the start of the season, the Ibrox faithful didn’t have high hopes for their team as Clement seemed out of ideas, with the Bears struggling to compete with Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
The tide has turned in recent weeks, and the Belgian manager has the tools to lift a trophy at the end of the campaign.
Yilmaz will likely play an influential role in the squad until next summer due to the unpredictability of injuries.
