Rangers ready for last-gasp new attacker transfer at Ibrox

Rangers could make a late loan move for an attacker on transfer deadline day, according to The Rangers Review.

The news outlet reports (3 February) that the Gers are not yet done with doing business in the final hours of the winter transfer window.

If given the opportunity, the Light Blues would prioritise the signing of a new forward on a temporary basis.

Rangers set for transfer deadline day chaos?

Rafael Fernandes has been the only addition to Philippe Clement’s squad in the current window as they looked for defensive reinforcements.

Bolstering the backline was evidently necessary due to several injuries, but John Souttar and James Tavernier have returned to action.

The Ibrox faithful would have arguably liked to see the Glaswegian outfit do more business in recent weeks, and it looks like the chaos will continue until the final hours, with the window set to shut at 11pm on 3 February.

Rabbi Matondo, Kieran Dowell and some youngsters have left the club, bringing down the wage bill.

Rangers may now have some room to manoeuvre for a last-gasp signing, and Danilo’s knock could have influenced them to add reinforcements up front.

Hamza Igamane has stepped up as the Gers’ first-choice striker, but Cyriel Dessers has also taken his opportunities in the last few matches.

Vaclav Cerny has also shouldered the burden of creativity in the attack, with Ianis Hagi also enjoying a resurgence at Ibrox.

The Light Blues look short on a number nine and a number 10 in their ranks, and whether those areas will be strengthened soon remains to be seen.

In other Rangers news, an excellent piece of business could be sealed with a £7million move for Cerny.
