Ridvan Yilmaz update at Rangers as loan-to-buy lined up
Ridvan Yilmaz could be set to stay at Rangers as Besiktas eye up a move for Roma’s Samuel Dahl, according to Sabah.
The Turkish news outlet reported (2 February, page 17) that the Super Lig side are eyeing up a deal to sign the 21-year-old left-back with a loan-to-buy deal in mind.
However, this would be as an alternative to Yilmaz who the Turkish side were said to want to sign but only on a loan deal [Gokmen Ozcan, 31 January].
Therefore, this could rule out a move away from Ibrox for the 23-year-old.
Ridvan Yilmaz to stay at Rangers?
The left-back has made just 13 league appearances for the Gers this term and with Jefte the preferred option in this position, Yilmaz has been required to shoehorn into other positions at some points in the campaign.
Therefore, it is fairly clear that Philippe Clement does not see the 23-year-old as a first-choice option for his squad, meaning sanctioning an exit would not be unfair.
However, if Besiktas can secure the services of Dahl from Roma on a loan-to-buy deal, it would look unlikely that Yilmaz would get his move back to Turkey as the club were only looking at him on a loan deal and therefore, they would feel they have a better option on their books.

Although he is not a first-choice player at Ibrox, the boss will need backup players in his squad that he can call upon if and when needed.
With that in mind, with little time left before the transfer window closes, the left-back staying put for now could assist the Light Blues rather than leaving them short of players they need in their team.
In other Rangers news, chiefs must be ready to pounce as a midfield target could now be set for an exit.
