UEFA delegate ‘could report player incident’ in Rangers v USG – Expert
UEFA delegates could include Union Saint-Gilloise defender Kevin Mac Allister in their post-match report against Rangers, Keith Hackett has said.
Mac Allister was spotted kicking the corner flag into the Ibrox crowd in celebrations for a disallowed goal on 30 January (BBC Sportsound, 20:32), but didn’t face punishment as the Bears won 2-1.
Hackett believes that it should have resulted in a yellow card, if spotted, and should have been dealt with immediately at the time.
Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, the ex-FIFA referee admitted that further action could follow the game at Ibrox after the incident was missed.
“That action should have resulted in a yellow card minimum and the referee should have dealt with it immediately,” Hackett said.
“There is a UEFA Match Delegate at the game and he may include it in his post-match report.
“It then may result in correspondence on the matter warning as to future behaviour by the player.”

Although not spotted by officials at the time, it could have caused serious trouble.
Supporters may have faced harm after Mac Allister’s actions, and it would be no surprise to see him retrospectively punished if not spotted.

Philippe Clement will just be happy to get across the finish line with the huge win, after yet another week of the officials not covering themselves in glory both domestically and in Europe.
Nico Raskin and Vaclav Cerny scored the all-important goals as the Light Blues clung on for all three points, but the referee and his team completely lost the game with several bookings in the final minutes.
