Rangers given ‘green signal’ as Josh Mulligan news emerges
Rangers may want to evaluate the hamstring issues in greater depth before they decide to sign Dundee midfielder Josh Mulligan, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has given the virtual green signal but has admitted that Gers would want to ensure that there are no medium or long-term concerns.
Derek Ferguson has urged the Ibrox outfit to sign the 22-year-old due to his versatility as he can play as a wing-back as well. [Open Goal podcast, 16 January at 17:50]
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “Based on his injury history with previous hamstring issues, Rangers will certainly want to evaluate it further and make sure there are no medium or long-term concerns.
“However, the fact that he only had a cramp this time and recognized it as well is a good sign that he’s personally aware of these injuries and is likely actively trying to prevent them.
“It’s not a move I would advise against.”
Josh Mulligan would be a quality signing for Rangers
Philippe Clement would love to bring in a midfielder who’s capable of playing in defence and is proven in the SPFL.
Even Si Ferry is understood to be a fan of the midfielder and lauded him on Open Goal.
He said: “He’s a Rolls-Royce like Gareth Bale – powerful, strong, direct. He’s a machine at that age. He wants to learn, listens to you.”

It remains to be seen if Gers look to sign him on a pre-contract agreement as his deal at Dundee runs out at the end of the season.
In other Rangers news, a fresh development has emerged on Nikola Katic’s return to Ibrox before the transfer window shuts.
