Findlay Curtis ready to take next steps for Rangers

Going from a Scottish Cup third-round tie with non-league Fraserburgh to a headline European night at Manchester United’s Old Trafford is certainly an unconventional way to make your mark.

However, that’s exactly how Curtis’ first two senior appearances in a light blue jersey came about, with his new contract capping off a whirlwind 10 days for the teenager at his boyhood club.

Extending his current deal in Govan could see the Bears elect to send Curtis out on loan for more game-time as he continues his development, but he now looks set to stay at Ibrox until the end of the season [The Rangers Review, 25 January].

With the likes of Cyriel Dessers, Tom Lawrence and Rabbi Matondo all linked with the exit door before 3 February, a path to regular first-team minutes could become even clearer for the highly-rated Curtis.

If any of that trio depart in the coming days, expect Curtis to grab any chance he gets with both hands.
