Rangers will not send youngster Findlay Curtis out on loan in the January transfer window, according to The Rangers Review.

The news outlet reports (25 January) that the 18-year-old will stay at Ibrox until the end of the season.

Curtis made his Europa League debut in the 2-1 loss to Manchester United on Thursday (23 January), coming on as a substitute for Vaclav Cerny.

Findlay Curtis transfer development encouraging at Rangers

It's encouraging to see the Light Blues finally placing their trust in youngsters, as was seen at Old Trafford.

Apart from the 18-year-old attacker who's capable of playing across the forward line, Bailey Rice also featured for the Bears against Ruben Amorim's team and shone in the middle of the park.

Curtis and Rice have shown they're ready to step into first-team action more regularly, seemingly leaving the door open for the likes of Tom Lawrence, Kieran Dowell and Rabbi Matondo to leave.

The Glaswegian outfit have flourished in recent weeks after Philippe Clement started to rely on the likes of Nicolas Raskin and Hamza Igamane.

Rangers need to ensure more young players are included in the senior squad ahead of the upcoming season as they look to compete with Celtic once again.

Investing in academy prospects not only gives the Light Blues ready-made players for the future but also gives them the potential to profit from their young talents.

Considering the evident financial troubles at Ibrox, the Bears should have more faith in Curtis, Rice, Zak Lovelace and others going forward.

The fans will be looking forward to their potential inclusion against Dundee United at Tannadice Park on Sunday.
