Iqraam Rayners ‘to clear medical’ as Rangers plot transfer pursuit

Iqraam Rayners should have no issues clearing his Rangers medical if he is to seal a transfer this window, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the Mamelodi Sundowns striker would adapt relatively quickly to life in Scotland should he move to Ibrox despite him being 29 and having no experience outside South Africa.

It’s understood that Gers are seriously considering making a bid for the striker in this transfer window. [Soccernet.ng, 20 December]

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “I don’t believe it’s ever too late to adapt and fit into a new league as long as you have patience with the process.

There will be increased injury risk early on but that’s part and parcel with the adaptation phase.

He should also have no issues clearing his medical based on his fitness situation.

Iqraam Rayners could be Cyriel Dessers’ replacement at Rangers

If Dessers is to be shown the door before the window closes Philippe Clement would want another striker through the door.

There’s a good chance that Rayners is being kept ready to replace the Nigerian and the club could make a move once Dessers’ exit is close to completion.
