Marcus Rashford rumour revealed before Man United v Rangers – Mark Goldbridge
Manchester United may welcome Marcus Rashford back into their squad against Rangers, according to Mark Goldbridge.
The global content creator (22 January) reveals he has heard “rumours” Rashford may return to Ruben Amorim’s plans, before hosting Philippe Clement’s side in the penultimate league phase fixture of the Europa League campaign on Thursday (23 January).
Goldbridge went onto lambast “weak” Amorim for potentially offering a return for Rashford having previously cast him aside following claims he wishes to leave Old Trafford.
Speaking via a stream on his YouTube channel, The United Stand, Goldbridge said: (22 January, 23:08): “I’ve heard a few rumours that Rashford might be in the squad [Thursday].
“If he’s back in the squad tomorrow, then I think that’s going to be hard for many fans to deal with. The only thing I’d say about that is that the player wants to leave and has said it publicly. This particular player has played a power play at this club many times before.
“Amorim has come in and taken him out, but if he comes back, player power wins again. Amorim looks weak. If he’s back in the squad [against Rangers], I don’t blame Rashford – this has been going on for years. This is on Amorim.”
Marcus Rashford may return for Man Utd v Rangers
Rashford last played for Manchester United in their last Europa League contest, a 2-1 win at Viktoria Plzen on 12 December.
Since publicly announcing he is seeking a move away from his boyhood club, Amorim has chosen to keep him out of the side – albeit as an unused substitute for one game against Newcastle United on 30 December.
In spite of United’s horrendous season so far – which has seldom improved since Amorim’s arrival in place of Erik ten Hag – Rangers will have plenty of attacking threat to be concerned with on Thursday without the potential addition of Rashford to the mix.

Philippe Clement is under a relatable level of pressure at Ibrox and although he is unlikely to convince many that he is the long-term Gers solution, a result at Old Trafford would garner some much-needed positivity.
United’s primary attacking danger this campaign has been Amad Diallo – a man briefly acquainted with Rangers via his loan spell as a 19-year-old in 2022 – who has scored nine goals and claimed seven assists so far this season.
