Rangers transfer round-up: ‘Juicy’ Dessers update, Ibrox target stops training

Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen still have 12 days until the winter transfer window slams shut and plenty of rumours are floating about Rangers.

The Light Blues have relieved some of the stress on the available defenders with the signing of Lille’s Rafael Fernandes, but that is unlikely to be the only transfer at Ibrox this month.

With plenty of rumours circulating about the Gers right now, Ibrox News has rounded up the latest transfer stories, including two more defenders being linked with a move to Scotland.

Alex Lowry completes Wycombe Wanderers move

The League One side had opened talks to sign Alex Lowry in an attempt to sign the forward before 3 February, according to Chris Jack, a move which has been confirmed.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah offered to Light Blues

It is understood, as per Wales Live, that former Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah has been offered to Philippe Clement’s side, though there are concerns over him.

The 27-year-old has trained with Ajax over the past few weeks, though his injury record has been mooted as a potential hiccup for the Gers.

A whole host of Championship teams, including Swansea City, Middlesborough and QPR are all interested, as are Bayer Leverkusen and Ajax, having worked with him recently.

Cyriel Desser’s “juicy” update at Ibrox

Rangers have made “juicy” demands to allow Cyriel Dessers to depart Ibrox before 3 February, according to AS, with Leganes setting their sights on the 30-year-old striker.

The Gers are understood to be searching for a permanent exit for the Nigerian if he is to leave this window, a deal which is unfeasible for the second-tier Spanish side.
