Four Lads blast Daily Record over controversial Rangers article
Rangers blog Four Lads Had A Dream have hit out at journalist Alan Galindo for his article related to comments made by Leon Balogun on a podcast.
The Gers centre-back appeared on the Counter Attack Podcast on 20 January where he described certain fans as “extremely disrespectful” for their treatment of Cyriel Dessers.
This was then shared via the Daily Record by Galindo which podcast host Bobby Nwanze took issue with on X (21 January).
He said: “Can your reporters do their own work? Don’t want us in the room but will jump on our work. Leon actually said: ‘Criticism is ok and just don’t go overboard’.”
In reaction to this, the Four Lads responded and said: “Alan [Galindo], do the right thing and credit the lads as well as sorting out the comments.”
Four Lads slam journalist after comments about Rangers ace Leon Balogun
It was certainly positive to see the 36-year-old coming to the defence of his Ibrox teammate who has had a turbulent campaign to say the least.
The Nigeria international striker has still managed to net seven league goals this season but it is the number of missed chances that frustrate the Light Blues faithful.
If the 30-year-old had that clinical edge, he would arguably be one of the better strikers in recent memory in Govan, if he isn’t already.
With that being said, the level of abuse from the stands at Ibrox aimed towards Dessers has been frequent and it now his teammates have had enough.
It is fair for Balogun to come to the defence of his fellow Rangers and Nigeria ace and suggest that the criticism has become too much.
This has been taken the wrong way by the Daily Record and Galindo which means it is little surprise to see Four Lads reach out in protest of what has been written.
In other Rangers news, a journalist has suggested that Ianis Hagi could “demand big money” before departing Ibrox.
