Cyriel Dessers transfer: Rangers make juicy demands to seal exit

Rangers have made “juicy” demands to allow Cyriel Dessers to leave, according to AS.

The Spanish outlet reported on 21 January that Leganes have set their sights on the 30-year-old in the winter transfer window.

The report claims that the Gers are demanding a permanent transfer which is unfeasible for the second-tier outfit.

It states that the Spanish club are exploring other methods to sign the Nigerian, such as a loan deal but even that seems unlikely due to the Bears’ demands.

Dessers destined to leave Rangers this month?

The veteran seems set to depart Ibrox in the winter transfer window after falling down the pecking order this season.

Philippe Clement prefers both Hamza Igamane and Danilo over the Nigeria international, who has featured 20 times in the Scottish Premiership so far this campaign, scoring seven goals.

Dessers has featured for a total of just 86 minutes in the last six Scottish Premiership matches, although he did score in a one-minute cameo in the victory over Aberdeen on 15 January.

He scored a hat-trick when he played for the full 90 minutes in the 5-0 win over Fraserburgh on Sunday (19 January) but he will want more to play on a more regular basis.

Scottish Mail reporter Gary Keown believes that he has given up at Ibrox after he told the media that the club could sell him and he wants to play whether that is in Govan or not.

An exit makes sense for both parties as the player wants regular game time and the club needs to recoup funds to allow Clement to reinforce his squad.
