Danilo injury: Four Lads share if Rangers star requires surgery in new update

Danilo will not require surgery after sustaining yet another injury during Rangers’ 3-0 win over Aberdeen, according to Four Lads.

The 25-year-old started the Ibrox clash on 15 January, being replaced at half-time by Nedim Bajrami, a substitution which caused concern after the player missed several games earlier this season.

Since returning from injury, however, Danilo has notched seven goals and three assists across all competitions, becoming an important player for Philippe Clement.

Taking to X on Friday [17 January], Four Lads wrote: “Danilo has a small upper body injury caused by the challenge midweek He doesn’t require surgery & will be missing for a few weeks only.

“He’ll have a brace on for a week then back to it. It is not a big injury and he is fine.”

Rangers breathe sigh of relief over Danilo update

While the supporters are aware of exactly how talented Danilo is with the ball at his feet, his constant injury issues are becoming a big source of frustration at Ibrox.

He nearly missed the entirety of the Light Blues’ 2023/24 campaign, one which led into the next season, and only saw him return to the squad in early November.

Of course, with Hamza Igamane in incredible form right now, and Cyriel Dessers still a backup striker for now, a short absence for Danilo is not the end of the world, but it is certainly a concern.

Clement confirmed the player would be unavailable to face Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup [Rangers Review], but now it appears that he will be absent for the next few games with this new injury.

It is still a big boost that Danilo will not require surgery on his upper body issue, but with his injuries not becoming any less common, supporters are beginning to lose patience with him.
