Rangers transfer news: David Edgar wowed as player approach made
David Edgar is wowed at the links connecting Rangers with a transfer swoop for Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron.
Rangers are enduring a tough season with the winter transfer window seen as an opportunity to strengthen the squad, and recent links to Dundee star Cameron [Sky Sports] have excited Edgar, with an approach said to have already been made.
Cameron has thrived at Dundee this season and the links with a move to Ibrox are intensifying as the window goes on with Edgar hailing his ability.
Via the Heart and Hand podcast X account [14 January], Edgar said: “I like him, obviously needs to develop but we need Scottish lads.”
Rangers need to be active in the transfer window
Having already suffered defeat in the Scottish League Cup final, while finding themselves 15 points behind league leaders Celtic, Rangers have very few opportunities left to achieve success.
Just the Scottish Cup and Europa League remain as realistic chances, with the latter likely to pose the biggest challenge given the level of quality of those competing against the Light Blues.
However, if the Gers are to have any chance of success through those means, much of it will hinge on their ability to strengthen their squad this window.

Several players have already been linked with moves away from Ibrox, with Cyriel Dessers likely to be one [Corriere Fiorentino] given how little he has been able to contribute this season, largely down to the influence of Hamza Igamane.
If the Rangers hierarchy are serious about their efforts to turn fortunes around at Ibrox, they must showcase that ambition in the coming weeks.
In other Rangers news, two players are touch and go ahead of the clash with Aberdeen.
