Rangers in bid to wrap up Lyall Cameron signing – Sky Sports
Rangers are working on a deal to sign Lyall Cameron from Dundee FC, according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster reported via their live transfer blog on Tuesday (14 January 4:04 pm) that the Light Blues are keen on finalising a pre-contract agreement with the midfielder amid interest from clubs abroad.
Cameron is in the final six months of his contract and Dundee would be due a compensation fee if he leaves on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Patrick Stewart to quickly strike Lyall Cameron deal for Rangers
The Gers acquired Connor Barron’s services on a free transfer from Aberdeen last summer and are looking to agree a similar deal for Cameron this year.
Dundee would not want to lose the 22-year-old, who has bagged eight goals and seven assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.
However, they could be forced to settle for a compensation fee if the Scotland Under-21s international moves to Ibrox.
As for Rangers, they will want to avoid the possibility of other interested clubs stealing a march on them.
Therefore, it would not be a surprise if Patrick Stewart reached an agreement with Cameron over a free transfer quickly.

It remains to be seen if there is any possibility that Philippe Clement’s take the youngster to Govan during the ongoing transfer window instead of waiting until the summer.
For the time being, it appears their efforts are geared towards snapping him up on a free transfer.
