Lyall Cameron transfer: Rangers ramp up interest in Dundee compensation update
Rangers have ramped up their interest in Dundee’s midfield talent Lyall Cameron, according to Daily Record.
The online source reports [10 January] that the Gers’ scouting team have already done extensive work and are continuing to watch the 22-year-old, who could make a similar move to Connor Barron last summer.
While Cameron remains in talks over a new contract with Dundee, the Light Blues know they could sign the player for a similar fee to Barron’s £650,000 tribunal move with a possible further payment of £250,000 and a 10 per cent sell-on fee.
The Dee are aware that they would only be owed a training fee if Cameron were to move south of the border.
Rangers to sign Lyall Cameron from Dundee?
The Scottish Premiership continues to produce more and more exciting youngsters, with Cameron just another example of that at Dens Park.
At just 22 years old, it is no wonder why the midfielder has attracted so much interest, having notched five goals and four assists in 21 appearances so far this season.
He also has eight appearances for Scotland Under-21s, and much like Barron, he is likely just one big move away from putting his name on the map among the European elite.
While Barron’s form has dipped in recent weeks under Philippe Clement, the former Aberdeen ace’s move to Ibrox was greeted with a lot of excitement, knowing he has the potential to be a star.

Of course, the Gers’ finances always seem to be limited, compared to their Old Firm rivals Celtic anyway, and a bargain deal for Cameron should be just as exciting this season.
Other teams in the division, as well as those south of the border, are likely to also be interested in his signature, so the Light Blues need to act quickly if they are to secure his transfer.
In other Rangers news, one Ibrox ace is surely heading for a £4m+ exit following his Dundee display, with his mind seemingly elsewhere.
