Dundee v Rangers: Philippe Clement wows with team news reveal
David Edgar has been left wowed by Clinton Nsiala being named in the Rangers side against Dundee in the Scottish Premiership on Thursday.
Edgar, who runs the Heart & Hand Podcast, is surprised by the 20-year-old’s inclusion in the team at Dens Park on 9 January.
Philippe Clement is set to rely on the young centre-back after injuries to John Souttar, Leon Balogun, Dujon Sterling and James Tavernier.
Writing via the Heart & Hand Podcast on X (9 January): “Wow, Nsiala in. Didn’t expect that.”
Philippe Clement has injury headache at Rangers
The Light Blues have had to deal with multiple injury issues over the last few weeks.
Souttar picked up a knock right before the Old Firm derby on 2 January, but the Bears managed to beat Celtic with Robin Propper and Dujon Sterling at the back.
Clement had relied on Sterling and Propper as his centre-back pairing before the English defender was injured in the 3-3 draw against Hibernian on 5 January.
Leon King was called upon from the bench at Easter Road, but Clement has put faith in Nsiala as Rangers look to get back to winning ways.

The Light Blues are 16 points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table but still need to secure second place, with Dundee United and Aberdeen on their tails.
While the league title looks out of the Gers’ hands, they’re still alive in the Europa League and will face Manchester United in the coming weeks.
The Scottish Cup is also another opportunity for the Belgian manager to potentially lift a trophy and convince fans of his suitability in the Ibrox dugout.
Clement has taken a big gamble by handing Nsiala a start, and the fans will hope his partnership with Propper will thrive at Dens Park.
