Rangers star Vaclav Cerny exit twist emerges amid growing interest
Villarreal are showing “significant interest” in signing Rangers attacker Vaclav Cerny, according to TransferFeed.
The news outlet reported on 3 January that Wolfsburg are keeping a keen eye on the situation as the Czech Republic winger, moved to Ibrox in the summer on loan from the Bundesliga side.
It’s understood that a permanent sale in January is also possible but that will hinge on negotiations with Villarreal.
Vaclav Cerny’s exit will be a huge blow for Rangers
Gers must do everything they can to avoid Villarreal from signing the 27-year-old permanently this month.
While it is highly unlikely he will move to Ibrox permanently, the club will at least want him for one full season.
He is a game changer on the wings for Rangers and while not as prolific in front of goal as Abdallah Sima, he’s certainly done a good job replacing him.
Wolfsburg will need to talk to Cerny and Gers to make anything happen in January and it remains to be seen how this saga unfolds.
Currently, Villarreal are in fifth place in La Liga and have a realistic shot at qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Whether that enough tempts the 27-year-old to push for a move in the January transfer window, remains to be seen.
In other Rangers news, the club want to sign a midfielder valued at around £650k in the January transfer window.
